Clients Work With Me Because:

  • I have advanced post-graduate training in psychoanalytic therapy and integrate the latest research from mindfulness, motivational enhancement and neuroscience to help clients reach their goals
  • I value the uniqueness of each client and tailor my approach to meet the client's needs
  • I work from a strengths perspective, recognizing progress no matter how small
  • I listen in a deep way, ask good questions and don't impose my perspective
  • I provide concrete homework assignments to deepen the work and mark progress
  • I value self-awareness and regularly seek clinical supervision

I'm an integrative therapist with a private practice in New York City, currently in my eighth year of intensive, advanced training at the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center (PPSC). Prior to private practice, I worked at a sex addiction treatment center where I conducted individual and group therapy, provided clinical supervision and developed programming. I present regularly on addiction topics, teach psychodynamic psychotherapy at the graduate level and have pursued the central question of how people change for more than ten years. Although I specialize in addictive behaviors, I see addiction as applicable to all maladaptive patterns in living and enjoy helping people work through relationship conflicts, depression/anxiety and other difficulties in living.
