I'm an integrative therapist with a private practice in New York City. Prior to private practice, I developed a versatile skill set working in various settings including a psychoanalytic treatment clinic, a sex addiction treatment center, a psychiatric outpatient unit and a residential facility for people living with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI). Along the way, I have conducted individual and group therapy, provided clinical supervision and developed clinical programming. I present regularly, teach at the graduate level and have pursued the central question of how people change for more than ten years.

Issues that I tend to work with are debilitating anxiety, unhealthy relationship patterns, lack of meaning or purpose, substance/alcohol use issues, problematic sexual behaviors, toxic work environments, loneliness, adverse psychedelic experiences and other difficulties in living. Underlying any issue that brings someone to therapy is a way of being in the world that may have worked at one point, but has now outlived its usefulness. I work within the context of a genuine, non-judgmental connection to help clients learn how to lead more satisfying lives.

Clients Work With Me Because:

  • I have extensive post-graduate training in contemporary psychotherapy and integrate the latest research from motivational enhancement, emotional neurobiology, and modern attachment theory to help clients reach personalized goals

  • Because I have worked with hundreds of individuals with addictive issues, I know how to quickly recognize and help clients work through repetitive themes, patterns and blocks

  • I value the uniqueness of each client and therapy relationship and use my versatile skill set to customize an optimal treatment approach

  • I use a strengths perspective, recognizing and building on progress no matter how small

  • I listen in a deep way and strive to clarify and understand clients’ personal experience

  • I value client feedback, good or bad, to make effective therapeutic adjustments

  • I’ve been a client myself so I know what it’s like from both sides
